our company |
Our business started up during the early seventies when
several plants of the COGNE company in Aosta, designed for the production
of semi processed products for coinage, were transferred to the site of
the previous industrial settlements dating back to 1930.
VERRES SpA’s know-how in the coinage sector however dates back
to 1939, the year in which the COGNE company perfected a ferritic stainless
steel called Acmonital, first used by the Italian Mint before spreading
to other countries all over the world. The setting up of VERRES
SpA as
a corporation took place in 1989 following the discorporation and subsequent
transferal of a branch of the iron and steel group ILVA.

lost-wax foundry
production |
The basic culture and knowledge deriving from the foundry, stimulated
the company to open two departments for using the ‘lost-wax’ casting
procedure:
The Art Foundry, a true artistic studio where the creative
talent of internationally renowned artists is transferred onto metal and the
Industrial Department that, from 1982 to 2005, manufactured
precision items for the car, biomedical and mountaineering industries etc.
