The art foundry or artistic foundry of VERRES SpA springs from the coming together of several smelters and sculptors from the Val d’Aosta: the former stimulated by the desire to recover artistic engineering techniques, in particular those of lost-wax casting; the latter stimulated by the expressive possibilities offered by metals and alloys.

The lost-wax casting method is extremely ancient: for its original application, a wax model was prepared and covered with the molding material, then heat was applied to melt the wax that flowed out from drainage tubes, after which molten metal was poured into the hollow cavity.
Over recent years the art foundry of VERRES SpA has developed close relationships with famous sculptors like Giò and Arnaldo Pomodoro, Aligi Sassu, Salvatore Fiume, Luciano Minguzzi, Emilio Greco, Giuliano Vangi, Miguel Berrocal and Alberto Sughi.

The foundry makes its know-how, experience and top-of-the range achievements available to its clientele by proposing the creation of art objects also for use as prestigious company promotions.
All the items are created with the collaboration of avant-garde artists and designers either in series or in limited and numbered editions, where each piece may be accompanied by a certificate guaranteeing its authenticity.
